IO-Dynamics optimises charging infrastructure for the electric fleet of ESW

Sustainable mobility meets innovative technology: IO-Dynamics is proud to support the Facility Management Wuppertal (GMW) in implementing a cutting-edge charging infrastructure at the depot of the Street Cleaning Company Wuppertal (ESW). The intelligent charging management system from IO-Dynamics ensures reliable fleet operations and stable power supply across 25 charging points, even at high capacity utilisation.

The ESW and AWG electric fleet comprises 38 vehicles, including three large sweepers, one refuse truck, seven small sweepers, three small transporters, and 24 passenger cars. To efficiently manage the diverse charging needs of this versatile fleet, GMW relies on a mixed system of AC and DC charging stations, featuring models like the Alpitronic Hypercharger HYC50 and KEBA KeContact P30. Challenges such as the large site layout and the constraint of a single grid connection were successfully addressed with the use of multiple charging controllers and the intelligent software provided by IO-Dynamics.

The charging management system coordinates the charging processes and prevents grid overload, ensuring optimal utilization of available energy and seamless fleet operations.
